Cultural Organizations
The
World Affairs Council was founded in 1947 out of the interest generated
by the founding of the United Nations in San Francisco in 1945. With
over 10,000 members, they are the largest international affairs
organization on the west coast, and host diverse and compelling seminars
and speakers on the burning topics of the day in international
affairs.
The
Alliance Francaise is the perfect place to improve your French skills,
study the culture of France and get in touch with
the francophile community here in San Francisco. They provide a range
of language
courses which
include business French. and can help you get acclimatized to the
nuances of conducting business in France. They also host a number
of cultural events from film evenings to the all-important celebration
of this year's Beaujolais Nouveau.
The
Goethe Institut is Germany's cultural ambassador across the world.
The Center in San Francisco offers language courses including courses
tailored to business German and the discussion of current business
affairs. The center also hosts many social events and screenings
of German films and participates in other cultural events across
the city.
